If you're interested in pursuing a management-oriented career, choose the Bachelor's degree program in Business Administration at the Faculty of Economics and Industrial Engineering in Zittau.

 

You'll graduate with a Bachelor of Arts. As a graduate of a university of applied sciences, your practical training will make you one of the most sought-after employees in business management positions in all types of companies and in public administration.

As a graduate of the Business Administration degree program, you will acquire fundamental knowledge and skills in business administration and related disciplines. You will be able to identify business-related problems, present them accurately, analyze them using scientific methods, and independently develop possible solutions.

You will gain an understanding of the interconnections between economic, social, and psychological sciences, as well as insight into the material, value-based, and financial processes of economic life. This will enable you to handle the complex and dynamically evolving tasks in the economy as a whole, as well as within companies and institutions.

 

  • Semesters 1 – 4: Foundation Studies
    Semesters 5 – 6: Advanced Studies
    Semester 7: Internship in a company and completion of the Bachelor's thesis (usually with practical relevance), followed by the thesis defense

  • During the first four semesters, you will acquire basic knowledge in business administration, economics, mathematics, and computer science. Additionally, you will develop social, interpersonal, and communication skills, which also include language training in Business English.
  • In the following semesters, you will focus on specialized knowledge. You are required to complete two areas of specialization from a selection of six options. This specialization is further enhanced and expanded through elective modules.
  • These combination options offer students a high degree of flexibility, catering to personal interests as well as the requirements of the job market.
  • The integration of business simulation games into the program allows for a connected, cross-departmental, and cross-functional approach to business thinking, enabling students to recognize business-related problems in a holistic manner and develop appropriate solutions. At the same time, the Entrepreneurship module fosters the creative development of entrepreneurial skills.

    The program is designed to enable independent and individualized professional development, with particularly talented and qualified students having the opportunity to pursue an academic career, including the possibility of a doctorate.

  • The foundational part of the program is characterized by comprehensive theoretical training, which is practically extended through specialized focus areas in the advanced part of the program, business simulation games, and the internship.
  • During the internship, entrepreneurial decision-making problems are solved and documented using scientific methods.
  • The business simulations allow and require students to make entrepreneurial decisions, evaluate them, and present their findings in groups.
  • The study content develops essential problem-solving, teamwork, and presentation skills, which are crucial for professional life.

    Through a wide range of specialized focus areas and elective modules within the advanced study phase, students can design a tailored program that aligns with their personal interests.

    Students are required to complete two areas of specialization, each worth 15 ECTS. Each area of specialization consists of three modules.
