This Business Management program is a part-time degree program with on-site attendance in cooperation with the Academy for Part-Time Studies (IBS) in Vienna, Austria.
In addition to the general admission requirements, applicants must have a recognized qualification:

- from the Higher Schools for Economic Professions (Höhere Lehranstalten für wirtschaftliche Berufe) in Austria, or

- as a state-certified business economist (staatlich geprüfter Betriebswirt / staatlich geprüfte Betriebswirtin).
This qualification may lead to the recognition of up to 60 ECTS credits. In case of partial recognition, missing ECTS credits must be completed through a preceding full-time study program at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
The part-time nature of the program also requires active participation in professional life during the course of study.
Degree: Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)
Study Location: Vienna
Course structure
Start: Annually, depending on demand, in the winter and/or summer semester.
Standard study duration: Five part-time semesters, with the first academic semester being the third semester of the program.
Training objective
The program is offered with the aim of training professionals for roles in corporate management. It is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach to acquiring competencies and delivering content.
This enables students to:
- obtain a scientific-level qualification while working,
- acquire generalist knowledge for leading organizations, and
- develop not only business management expertise but also their methodological, communication, and personal skills.
Career opportunities
Graduates of the program are qualified as prospective managers in the business sector, with a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The program supports graduates in their professional development by strengthening and deepening both their business management expertise and their overall decision-making and leadership competencies.
The degree programs were submitted to a notification procedure by AQ Austria in accordance with § 4 (2) of the § 27 Notification Ordinance 2019. The positive notification decision for all degree programs can be downloaded [here] or viewed on the AQ Austria website.
In the event that AQ Austria's board revokes the notification decision, the degree programs may no longer be offered in Austria. The notification is valid until November 24, 2027.
The notification decision does not constitute recognition of equivalence with Austrian degree programs or academic titles. The degrees and academic titles are recognized as those of the country of origin (Germany).
The equivalence of higher education between Germany and Austria was already established in 2003 through a bilateral agreement.
The international reputation of our degrees is also reflected in the fact that many of our graduates are welcomed by renowned universities abroad. One IBS graduate, for example, is currently completing a PhD program and teaching at Oxford Brookes University in the elite academic environment of Oxford. Other former IBS students have gone on to study at Sciences Po Paris, one of the world’s top universities in political science and international studies (according to the World University Ranking), and at the University of St. Gallen, one of Europe’s leading business schools.
