Invitation to take part in the photo competition

Every building, every machine, every plant, every object – as well as every human body – is only as good as the sum of its individual parts. It can be carefully thought out, technically or craftily precise details that make the much-quoted 'little difference.'

They can also simply be aesthetically pleasing, technically brilliant, or visually fascinating. Conversely, one may also come across useless or curious details that amuse us.

Ultimately, the human body or a complex plant is also a functioning machine, which in turn is made up of a collection of potentially representable details.

Call:
The Faculty of Business Administration and Engineering Management at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is announcing a photography competition titled "EN DÉTAIL" focused on detail and macro photography. Capture details you encounter at home, on the go, or while traveling that catch your attention and ours.

Image Content:
- Full-page display of the relevant detail
- File format *.JPG with dimensions of approximately 4000 x 2825 pixels or more
(equivalent to DIN A1 - 59.4 x 84.1 cm at 150 dpi)
- Portrait or landscape orientation, in color or black and white

Prices:
1st Price – 150 €
2nd Price – 100 €
3rd Price – 50 €

Exhibition:
Presentation of the framed photos in the form of a temporary exhibition at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, house ZII, Schliebenstraße 21 in Zittau, and, if possible, at one or more other venues.

Schedule:
- Submission digitally via email or provision as download by September 15, 2025
- Exhibition at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences October 8, 2025 - January 30, 2026
- Exhibition at other venue - February 9, 2026 - March 27, 2026

- Submission of photos or download link via email to luisa.wendel(at)hszg.de

- Please submit only one photo per participant.

- On a voluntary basis, a short explanatory text about the depicted image content can be submitted
additionally.

- Should the number of participants exceed the exhibition capacity, we reserve the right to make a
pre-selection in consultation with the jury.

- Employees of the university and those involved in the exhibition organization can participate, but
will not be considered for the prizes.

- Submitted photos must be provided with a unique file name that includes the author's last name.
The author's full name, address, and contact information must be stated in the submission email.

- By participating in the competition, the author grants the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied
  Sciences a right of use for the submitted photo. It can be used online or in print for press releases,
  advertising purposes, or other purposes after consultation and with attribution of the author. The
  actual copyright remains unaffected.
